For the Church. By the Church.
Beyond Translation exists to see every people group discipled by the Word of God in their heart language. We empower local churches to translate Scripture, make disciples, and transform communities through the power of God’s Word.
“He said to him, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Our Vision
Every people group. Every language. Every heart. We believe the Great Commission will be fulfilled when people of every nation, tribe, and tongue can read and understand the Word of God in their own language—with the Church in those nations leading the way.
Our Mission
We train, mobilize, and resource local churches so they can translate Scripture, plant churches, and raise up disciples who live out the love of Christ. Through our Church-Centric Bible Translation (CCBT) model, local believers lead the work of translating God’s Word into their own language.
This model is faster, more affordable, and more sustainable—reducing translation timelines from 20 years to 8 and project costs from $1 million to $500,000.
Our Work
-

Envision
We inspire church leaders to grow their community of disciples through Bible translation, helping them to understand how participation in the process accelerates the fulfilment of the Great Commission and provides them with resources to more effectively establish the church.
-

Equip
We train church networks regarding how to translate the Bible with accuracy and quality at their own pace. Individuals from church networks and local communities are identified as In-Country Trainers. These leaders receive in-depth Biblical training, learn principles of translation, and work to translate manuals and resources into their own heart languages. They are then able to equip and train translation teams in their own countries.
-

Establish
We establish and multiply churches through discipleship in every language and related people group. Our focus is on fulfilling the Great Commission and not just translating the Bible– translation is just the beginning. Throughout the translation process, teams have opportunities to actively use the Word of God for church planting, discipleship, and evangelism.
-

Encourage
We encourage the collaboration of church networks, agencies, and partners to translate Scripture. When a church network or multiple churches work to translate Scripture together, there is greater effectiveness and capacity. We encourage individual churches that come to us with the desire to have the Word of God in their language to join forces with another church or network.
Our Methodology
-

Drafting
Local church members work together to translate Scripture into their own language.
-

Exegetical Check
Trained reviewers carefully examine the draft for accuracy, clarity, and faithfulness to the original text.
-

Community Review
Church members read and respond to the translation to ensure it is natural, clear, and easy to understand.
-

Quality Validation
Translation experts and consultants thoroughly evaluate the work to confirm high quality and maximum accuracy.
-

Church Acceptance
Local church leaders formally approve the translation and receive the first copies of the completed Scripture.
-

Distribution
Printed, digital, and audio versions of the translation are made freely available to the community.
Our DNA:
We believe the local Church is not just the beneficiary of translation—it is the engine of it.
• For the Church:
Every translation effort serves the body of Christ and advances discipleship.
• By the Church:
Local believers take ownership of translation, evangelism, and discipleship.
• With the Church:
Western churches come alongside in love, prayer, and partnership.
Integrity and Stewardship
Every dollar given and every verse translated is handled with prayer, transparency, and accountability. We publish annual Impact Reports that include stories, photos, and financial updates from the field.
